This months mood board is a beautiful dusty, vintage pink. I'm slowly falling in love with pink after my most recent purchase of a beautiful pink mandala bed spread, so i created something to hang on mt bedroom wall in the same colour. Perfectly timed mood board. I started out by covering the canvas in a think layer of white gesso. I then used texture paste through this really cool dusty attic stencil. I then used a combination of the following Lindy's sprays. (Bougainvillea Fuchsia, Alpine Ice Rose, Prima Donna Purple, Yellow Rose of Texas). The sides of the canvas are framed in the Fuchsia. I then tried something new. I Rubbed down the edges of my canvas with Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Walnut Stain), i also used a soft brush and slowly dabbed the ink through a stencil. Giving an almost vintage lace look to the canvas. I really loved how well this worked out. I adore how much the Yellow and Purple shimmer as you move around the canvas, Definitely a favourite colour combination of mine. I used The Dusty Attic chip boards and kaiserkraft purple paper flowers, as well as this stunning fabric flower i had sitting on my craft table, i knew i'd use that eventually. I painted the chip boards and flowers in white gesso. I then added some Pearl Ex Pigment Powder (scarlet) to some gesso and lightly painted the leaf chip boards. I also lightly painted the larger chip board around the edges. I then lightly brushed the large chip board with white gesso again, adding some Halo Glitter (gold) to give it some texture and shimmer. I rubbed the flowers, chip boards and flowers with the Distress Ink. I also rubbed the Pearl Ex mixed with gesso around the tips of the flower petals. I collected a few randomarts resins and painted them with a combination of the various Lindy's sprays already used on the canvas. I also added a Tim Holtz word, i believe is from an ideaology pack. I also added some fabric twine/string for lack of a better word. I wish i knew what it's called and where i got it from. I used white and purple as well as some flat back pearls in white and grey. I then decided that i wanted the chip boards to have some more texture and depth to them so i painstakingly painted some artist wax (white gold and rose gold) onto the chip board edges with a soft small brush. I then rubbed the brush onto the flower tips. Definitely happy that i did. Thank you all so much for viewing my blog. Creating this was a treat.
