October Mood Board

Picture

I started this fun little canvas by covering in with book pages and plasters tape. Then i covered it in white gesso.

I love using plasters tape in my projects. Its super versatile. On many occasions i cover the tape with texture paste, then remove it leaving behind fun little squares.
Picture

I then attached these awesome wings. These are actually a necklace i found in a second hand store.

This beautiful ballerina dress resin is from the Randomarts store.

The wire panel background is a chipboard also available in store.

I then attached some white peals beads. I then covered it all in white gesso.

Picture
I then used Lindy's Magical Shakers. (Polka Purple, Bavarian Blue)
Picture

I adore Magical Shakers. I've only used them a few times so i'm still experimenting.

These are super simple to use, simply shake and add water from a spray bottle.

This photo doesn't show the subtle shimmer.

Picture

Then i added Lindy's sprays.
Saying i'm in love with these sprays is an understatement.

I used:
Maintenance Magenta
Prima Donna Purple
Ocean Breeze Blue
Tibetan Poppy Teal
Buccaneer Bay Blue

Altered Coffee Jar

For this months free post i decided to create this altered coffee jar.
I had the best time creating this piece. Working on a round surface really gets my creative mind working overtime.
Picture
I started by covering the entire jar with texture paste and using a flat soft brush i massaged tissue paper over the top, creating bumps, tares and ripples.
Picture
While it was still tacky i used old curtain rope beads to wrap around the jar. I also added a little bit of crochet material to the top and a hessian cut off to the side. I then covered the entire thing with white gesso.
Picture
Then i added old jewellery, chipboard, buttons, beads and some resin faces. (Resin faces available from the store) I also replaced the hessian from the above photo. I cut it to fit the jar better.
Picture
As you can see if both these photos i placed a cardboard frame around an image. This i loosely tacked on with gel medium until i had filled the bits and bobs around it. I took it off in the next step.
Picture
I then used a mixture of lindy's sprays (cathedral pines green, azure sea asters, buccaneer bay blue and bayou boogie gold) I lightly sprayed areas and let it drip and run around. After drying it with my heat tool i added more of certain colours here and there where needed.
Picture
Picture
I then used finnabair wax (Peacock) to highlight the beads on the thread and other parts of jewellery, beads and chipboards. I also used a fin brush to added the lindy's spray colours to the cardboard frame. I used the wax on the lettering and on the resin faces.
Picture
I also added a chipboard to the bottom corner as well as some flat back bling.
Picture
My altered coffee jar. So much fun to create and share with you all.
Check out www.randomarts.com.au for the amazing lindy's sprays i used in this artwork, as well as finnabair wax's, resins, chipboards, texture paste, gesso, gel medium and much much more.

I hope this jar has inspired you to give one ago yourself.
Thankyou for viewing my blog, much love.
