Altered bottle using some amazing products available from the randomarts store.

Picture
To start with i covered the bottle in white gesso, once dry i added a thick layer of crackle paint. Once that dried i sealed the bottle with a matte spray. Clear gesso could also be used to seal it.
Picture
Then using gel medium MATT i attached an old chain i found in my garden, possibly from an old handing basket. I also attached beads both small and large. I then painted it all with white gesso.
Picture
Once the gesso dried i used lindy's sprays to colour the bottle this amazing vintage look.I started with Tibetan Poppy Teal around the neck of the bottle allowing it to drip down the bottle and around the chain. Then i added Bayou Boogie Gold randomly over the bottle. I used Buccaneer Bay Blue around the chain and beads but couldn't get the desired look i was after. I sprayed the whole bottle with Azure Sea Asters to give it a lovely shimmer.
Picture
Then comes the most amazing art product i've ever used, Rust Effect Paste.
I started with the Brown Rust. I used an old cheap brush, lightly dabbing the paint on then smudging it around. I put it on a bit heavy in places so i used a spray bottle to water it down. Now, I forgot to take photos of my next to steps sorry. I then added Red Rust over the Brown in places, slowly working it around with a course stiff brush, then a little bit of Gold Rust to help add to the rusty old look.
Picture
I then used artist wax Peacock on the beads to add pops of blue to the bottle. I absolutely adore this colour. I also used wax to high light the edges of some flowers. I used white flowers from Little Birdie. Some i kept white while others i used Lindy's sprays on to make them an amazing shimmery blue. I also used off cuts of chain (plastic beads) from an old vertical blind.
Picture
I used the rust paste on an old plastic pad lock i had laying around. I also used an old toy earing than i sprayed with Lindy's spray and Firebird wax. I also used a heart shaped
button, chipboard heart and a little skull to decorate.
Picture
  • I added a few white beads in places i thought would work. The bottle didn't feel finished without them.
Picture
Thank you so much for viewing my blog. Feel free to give this a go. Altered bottles are so much fun to create.

Vintage Journal Cover

Hello and Welcome,

My name is Sass and I have started a new journey as a Store Ambassador for Random Arts Pty Ltd.  Random Arts Pty Ltd is a new Australian owned and operated Art and Craft On-Line Store. Each month we will be given a mood board for that month. We are to use this board to help create a project using products from the shop.
... this is the process I used to get this Journal cover done using this
months mood board... July 2019

All the details regarding the Moodboard Challenge are Here
July Moodboard

Picture
This is my first blog post, and this is the process I used...
Picture
I started with the
Kaisercraft Kraft A4 Journal.
I loved the colour and size of this journal.

Picture

Then I added some texture with Liquitex Gesso and a simple stencil.
Picture
I then painted over the whole
thing with Gesso.

Picture
I decided to add a few more Chipboard pieces and another piece of
braid to the top.

Picture
I then added some Flowers, lace, chipboard pieces and braid to two sides with a hot glue gun. I didn't pay much attention to colour as I knew I was to cover it all up with Gesso.
Picture
Here I covered the whole cover
with White Gesso.

Picture

Finishing touches:

I added Lindy's Magical Shakers in:
Grab a Guy Gold
Cowagunga Copper
Alpine Ice Rose
Bratwurst Brown

I finished it off by rubbing a small amount of Gold Acrylic Paint onto the Braid, Frame, and Chipboard pieces.

And please, also join the
Random Arts Creative Group...
it is full to the brim
with the most Lovely
and Inspiring members,
anyone could hope to meet.

Canvas-ing for Random Arts It's with great pleasure I  am able to show you my
first post for Random Arts... Our
First Inspiration Challenge began on the 1st July.
All the details regarding the Moodboard Challenge are Here

Picture
I will be showing two project a month and my first one is what we call a 'free post' where we have a free hand as to
what we make as long as we use products from The Store
I decided to just have a little play with some of the products
here by making a small canvas.

Sorry for the quality of this photo but I took iton my phone and it is the only one I have.
The stencil is from AB Studio and
Tim Holtz Distress Grit Paste (super stuff)
I then added some colour with Art Alchemy Metallic Paint

Picture
laces with a touch of Art Alchemy Wax for colour and cheesecloth. Also a few black flowers to the back.
Picture
Here's a few close ups!
Picture
These are the items I used from Random Arts Online Store
in no particular order
AB Studio Stencil - ID-17
Nuvo Shimmer Powder - Storm Cloud
Tim Holtz Distress Grit Paste
Finnabair_Waxes Vintage Gold/Rich Copper
Little Birdie Natural Mica Powder
Bo Bunny Laser Cut Butterfly Chipboard
Other products used from my stash.
Thank you so much for taking time to drop byI will be back next week for a bigger project for

Picture
then a splash of colour to the background withNuvo Shimmer Powder in Storm Cloud and some random text,
Picture
I then got sidetracked with my Bo Bunny butterfly and forgot to photograph what I was doing. Applied some gesso first then while it was wet added some Little Birdie Mica Powder, Art Alchemy Waxes in Rich Copper and Vintage Gold.Topped with a painted cabachon. As the photo has quite a bit of black I though it needed a little more so added five tiny pearls (one is hiding)
to the lace.

I started by gluing down wooden pegs and old broken jewellery and using Little Birdie Embossing Texture Paste. I LOVE this paste, watching it dry under a heat gun is so satisfying. Watching it bubble up is amazing fun. The end result is kind of spongy and soft.
I then painted the whole thing with white gesso.

Picture
Picture
I then used a little bit of dylusions paint (tangerine dream) with
white gesso to get this pretty cream colour.

I then smudged some white gesso over the top to blend in the
cream to a more vintage look. I used
art alchemy artist wax colours (Firebird and White gold) over the whole
thing. I started with a soft brush, working the White gold into the gaps of the pegs, jewellery and texture paste. I used my finger tip to rub in the firebird in spots
here and there to give it an aged look. I also used lindy's starburst sprays
(glory of the seas gold).
This gave it an amazing shimmer and the amazing
speckles you see in the work.

Picture
Picture
I took inspiration from the black lace in the mood board and just had to use it in my artwork. I also had this amazing rose gold beaded lace to edge the black.
I then added Little birdie flowers and white pearl beads.
Oh my goodness i love these flowers, so pretty.

I started off using clear gesso to adhere the doily to the canvas
I then stencilled over the top with a clock stencil I had with some Finnabair Art Extravagance Icing Paste in White Gold but it smudged uneath but most of it got covered any way

Picture
I used Finnabair Art Alchemy Metallique Wax in
White Gold on most of the plain embellishments that needed colour

Here you can see some of the Resin Wings from the Resin Creations in Store

Picture
Picture
Picture
I used 3 butterflies from the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Thrift Shop Ephemera pack I also used some of the cards and a mannequin that was in the pack which you see below
Picture
I used some Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Heirloom Roses scattered over the canvas they are so pretty and easily changeable by adding a little colour or painting them with gesso you can change the colour fully
Picture
The Prima Marketing Resin Frame  I covered in the White Gold Wax and stuck some of the AB Studio Vintage Elements 5/6 paper that I cut to fit underneath it
I then added some Art Stones randomly and brushed everything with a light coat of the White Gold Icing Paste

Helloooo Everyone...
Today I am sharing a Project I did last year
to kick off the challenge for this month,
where I have done a bit of experimenting

with some of the LB products available Instore...:)

Using a 6x6 deep side canvas
do some stencilling with the embossing paste (charcoal)..
Then heated it with a heat gun to get those yummy raised bits....
Picture
I also stencilled on 2 sides
Picture
When dry give the whole canvas a couple of coats of LB black gesso...
Picture
Paint some LB flowers with black gesso and glue them to your canvas..
Picture
I made some shimmer spray by mixing some LB Mica Powder into some
Colour Splash Spray..
It works fabulous on black ...
I painted the chipboard with the Metallic Paint..

Picture
I have added some pearls and a fancy centre then
used some gold waxes to give definition to the paste and flowers..

 Here are some closeups...
