I love the soft pallet of this months mood board. I've had this beautiful Pegasus resin for sometime and always wanted to create a soft and dreamy mixed media piece with it. This months mood board was the perfect opportunity. ![]() I started with a picture frame. I attached puzzle pieces, chip boards, jewellery, a bolt, flat back beads and twine. I then covered the whole thing with a thick layer of white gesso. Resin available in store. The twine is Sew easy fancy floss (grape soda). ![]() I started an Ombre look using Dylusions paint (laidback lilac, periwinkle blue) I slowly added more paint here and there until i was happy with the overall look. ![]() Once i had achieved the look i was after i went back over the artwork and highlighted with finnabair, art alchemy (Opal Magic, pink-blue).. I also decided to highlight the horse with finnabair wax (peacock). I also highlighted the bolt, beads and any other raised edge i thought needed a little something. ![]() I then used a very stiff brush to dry brush white gesso lightly over the top of the whole piece. I believe this gave the work a cloudy, dreamy appearance. Hello everybody ! I´m here again and I have the tag tutorial for you today. I started by cutting a tag out of paper and gluing it to a plywood blank. I applied a black stamp paint on the edges and printed a stamp on the surface in several places. I made a black texture paste from black gesso and white texture paste. I applied it with a spatula over the stencil to the free surface. I painted black embellishments from Mitform and a wooden frame with black gesso. Then I layered the embellishments on top of each other, in addition to embellishments, I mainly used chipboards and flowers. Finally, I rubbed the black decorations with wax paste and applied glitter finish to some places and added a little glitter. I shot a videotutorial for you again.: I used this material: scrapbook paper plywood tag texture paste black gesso stamp black stamping ink stencil embellishments from Mitform chipboards from Tim Holz flowers wax paste Rich Cipper If you like the tag, write to me :-) I'm looking forward to the next time!
Hey there lovelies, I hope you are all doing well and keeping busy creating lots of wonderful things. I have a new DT layout to share with you all for Random Arts. I decided to do something a little different this time and do a beach themed layout, I hope you like it. Random Arts have a wide range of beach themed mitform castings and resins and you will see that I've used a variety of them on this layout. I used 3Quarter Designs card stock which already had a lovely background printed on it, so I didn't need to add anymore. I placed some circular chipboard down after having painted it and placed my photo's over some distressed card stock. On one of the photo borders, I used Sew Easy thread for some added texture. I used various media platforms for all the castings and mitforms, see my product list below. I used little shells collected from the beach, which are the perfect size to use on a layout and I added some burlap lace and twine around and through my design for that extra 'beachy' feel. Thank you for stopping by, I hope you liked this layout. For any of the products used, be sure to check out the Random Arts website. Have a lovely week and I will be back again soon. Until next time... Mel x Product List

Stay Safe,Have A Nice Day This months blog was a serious personal challenge. I wanted to use only Lindy's sprays to create a rust effect. I knew this seahorse had to have an amazing collection of steampunk items to frame it. I used resin cogs, chip boards, mitforms, old jewellery, wires and screws. ![]() I started with this solid wood number 9 that my neighbour gave me months ago. I don't know why but i knew that this would make a fantastic base for this steampunk project. I covered the whole thing in a thick layer of texture paste. As you can see in the top left corner there is this rusty.....thing. I found this thing in my laundry cupboard when i moved in last month. I have no idea what it is but it's so steampunk perfect and the colours are perfect. This...thing was my pallet for my project. I started out using green shades of Lindy;s sprays and shakers. (Bells of ireland green,Cathedral Pines Green, Lederhosen Laurel magical shaker). I then used a very old, favourite brush of mine. It has very stiff bristles so this worked brilliantly to work the sprays into the project to get the rust look i was after. I dabbed the sprays instead of spraying as i really wanted to control where the colour was going. Again i was using the rust colour of the found object as a reference. I started by using the blue hues (Baniff Blue) starburst squirts and (Black Forest Black) magical shaker. I then started on creating the rust by using a combination of (Yellow Rose of Texas, Glory of the Seas Gold, Bayou Boogie Gold) lindy's sprays and (Oktoberfest Orange) magical shaker. After a few attempts of dabbing the colour on i then moved to a plastic plate, mixing the colours together to create my own lindy's colour. I did go back over spots with straight colour to highlight and create shadow. This is the finished product. At first i thought i might have gone a little to heavy with the rust look but i am very happy with the final look. Challenging myself to only use lindy's sprays, squirts and shaker to create a rust look was so fun. These products are so incredibly versatile. Thank you so much for viewing my blog. Hi! Today i'm here with stencils from tattered angel. And i will show you a couple of things that you can do with it. Mostly they are used with sprays or inks. I have been working on a junk journal for a while. I don't have a lot of time to work on it, but this time i did. These stencils go great with the theme. A masculin journal. I've used 2 stencils from the pack as they went very well with the journal. It's very simpel, I put the stencil on my pages, partly as i like that look. And went over it with vintage photo distress ink. Just very softly so the form would appear. I did the same on the other page but on the top of the page. Later i will decorate it a bit more. I've also done other pages and used the other stencil. I like the vintage look it gives. Now you can choose to leave it like this and keep the page blank for journaling. But i chose to decorate it a bit. The left picture: i made a tiny tuckspot on the bottom left page. You can stick a letter or a picture behind it and it will not fall out of the journal. On the top right page i put a little envelope where you can hide something inside. ;) Still the stencil gives a nice background. On the right picture, you see i put a picture inside the stencil. It looks like an old film. I love it! Now, I've also used the stencils in a different way. I took some cardstock and traced arround the stencils. Then cut them out. Now these i can use as a nice decoration in my journal. Here i glued a picture i got from the internet, through pinternest (no copyright) I made sure when i glued it on the page i only glued the sides so i can slide something behind it as you see in the picture. Now you have a cute pocket! I did sort of the same with the other stencil, but this time i didn't glue the picture( in this case, the tag) but i glued the stencil on the sides and use it as a window. You can take the tag out and putt it back, or put another thing in it.
Of course you can use spray instead of ink but for this purpose the ink worked better. It's less messy ;) I hope you liked what i did with the stencils! (Mind: the photo's are not mine or in the shop, they are on the internet, free of copy right) Product list from the shop: - tattered angels stencilsStencils - distress ink vintage photoRangerInk Hi everybody! Today I prepared for you. a videotutorial again. As you may already know, tags are my favorite. And so it's another tag according to the moodboard. I started with texture paste which I applied with spatula. The tag I painted with white gesso. I applied Lindy´s Stamp Gang in blue and violet colour on the base. I placed resin embellishments on the tag and painted with white gesso too. I applied glass microspheres mixed with heavy body gel to several places. I repeatedly applied sprays and metallique paint. I painted the raised areas with white gesso and a dry brush. In the end, I sprinkled white glitter on several places. You can see the whole process on video: I used this material: texture paste white gesso resin embellishments glass microspheres Lindy´s Stamp Gang in blue and violet colour art alchemy metallique paint in blue colour glitters Thank you for following! Have a nice days!.
Hey there! I hope you are all having a wonderful week. I am back today to share my DT layout for Random Art’s monthly moodboard challenge. This month had my two favourite colours in it, purple and blue, so I loved creating this layout. I used 2 different card stocks for this layout. I made a few slices through the top one which is more on the purple side and then distressed and inked them, I placed a blue card stock behind it so that colour can pop through and they can blend together. I stencilled the background with white gesso and sprinkled glitter over the top to make it stand out and sparkle. For this layout, I used various resin moulds which are all available from the Random Arts online store. used flowers, ballet shoes and flourishes. See my product list below for the media used with them. I did a lot of fussy cutting from the Mintay ‘Dreamer’ collection and layered them under my photo at the top of the layout, but for the bottom I clustered flowers and the resins together. I hope you liked my layout, if you would like to participate in this month’s challenge, head over to the Random Art’s Facebook page to enter. Thank you for stopping by, I will be back again with another new project soon. Until next time… Mel x Product List
