I adore the colours of this months moodboard. Yellow is my daughter's favourite colour. ![]() I started with gluing down some beautiful lace material, cardboard, mosaic glass chipboards, resin and mitforms. I then gave it a good layer of white gesso. The backing is a small canvas. ![]() I then dicided to wrap some hemp twine around the canvas and then paint it with white gesso. ![]() I then used Lindy's magical shakers (octoberfest orange), around the edge of the resins and chipboard to create a shadow. ![]() Then i used Lindy's sprays (glory of theseas gold) around the edge of the canvas. I sprayed water to spread it around the canvas. ![]() I then used a combination of lindy's spray (yellow rose of texas) and Peral Ex Powered pigments (scarlet) and Daler Rowney FW Artist ink to get the desired look. I used nuvo Crystal Drops (grande)on the chipboards and as a highlight on the tips of the flowers (resin). ![]() Thank you all so much for viewing my blog. Hello Everybody! Here is some inspiration for the March moodboard challenge. I ve used some lovely products from random arts. Of course i will list them below. Let me tell you what i did. I started with a nice stencil from Dusty Attic and some texture paste, to make a nice background. And gave it a good dry with my heattool. Then i covered it with gesso. As the resin figure and the chipboard. Now the fun and messy part starts! Paint!! I used yellow and red for the background. To get some different shades i mixed the yellow with a little bit of red. The eagle i painted brown. And the chipboard in metallic bronze. And of course the canvas. But silly me forgot to take a picture of that proces. I first put the yellow colour and dried it. Then i went over it with the mixed colour, but only in the middle part. The excess i wiped off with a baby whipe. After i gave it a good dry with the heattool i used some wax to highlight the top layer of th texture paste and the resin eagle. Now the only thing left to do is glue everything down. Underneath the claws i added 2 metal keys. from my stash. And the wooden word awesome. I thought to leave it like this as the wood gives a nice feel in combination with the background colours. Hope u all like it. Happy crafting!!! Hey there! I'm back on the blog today with my new layout 'Beautiful' which is full of lovely soft pink tones. The card stock I used had pretty pink tones already, so I simply added some white stencilling which I then put glitter on top of to make it sparkle. Behind and around my photo I layered Kaisercraft's Lily & Moss collectables which were a perfect collection for this layout and what I wanted to do with it. For the title I used Nuvo Stone Drops and for the chipboards I used pink embossing powder and wax. For some added texture I put some burlap mesh lace behind and around my embellishments. I weaved some feather ribbon through my flowers for another different kind of effect and put small art stones and micro beads over some flowers and around the layout. I hope you liked this layout, I will be back again soon with another inspirational piece. Until next time... I love all this Egyptian so as soon as i saw these stunning Egyptian Resins available in store i knew exactly what to do. ![]() I started by using a very rough sandpaper and scratched up the metal so the gesso would stick. ![]() I gave the box a really good coat of white gesso. I then wrapped the box with strips of ragged lace. (forgot to take photos) ![]() Once dry i painted the box with white gesso and attached the resins with gel medium. I also painted the resins with white gesso. ![]() I started by covering the fabric with a combination of lindy's spray, (yellow rose of Texas, Glory of the Seas Gold) I then dripped Lindy's starburst squirts (Banff Blue) down from the top. I sprayed a lot of water to blend the colours together. I also used Lindy's Magical Shaker (Black Forrest Black). I used the shaker directly onto the resins and used water to spread the colour around. I added more (Yellow Rose of Texas) until i was happy with the colour. I then used Nuvo Crystal Drops (Grande) to highlight the details on the resins. I applied the (Grande) with a paint brush. The photos don't show the light shimmer this project has. So pretty when the light hits it. Thank you for viewing my project. Black Forest Black Magical Shaker

Our most exciting product with the funny name! Lindy's Squirts are a specialized dye system that is a thicker ink product you use as you would a fluid medium. Great for pouring, painting, mixed media, alcohol blending, collage, etc. Dyes lend themselves to permanence on porous surfaces like fabric, paper, polymer, clay, leather, wood, etc. Squirts are easy to mix & tint acrylic paints, art mediums, gels, gessoes, etc., without diluting them or changing their consistency. . Banff Blue is a rich, deep blue with an amazing blue shimmer. Hellooooo! I'm back today with this sticky notes holder i made. You can hang it above your desk, on the fridge, the wall, wherever you want. As you can see, i'm a messy crafter haha sorry about that. But i did have lots of fun. Of course i used some lovely products that i got from random arts. And of course some of my own things i had in my stash. So let me tell you something about the process. First i used a stencil from my stash. I cant recall the name. I used texture paste and covered the canvas and dried it with my heattool. Then put some flatback Pearls. I figured out my lay out before i stick things down so i know where everything is going to be. Then cover everything in black gesso. You can use white too in this case. It depends on how bright you want your colours to be. White makes the colour pop more. Black makes it look a bit deeper and darker. So i used back and put the 2 colours down. Red violet and indian turkois. Then i did the same with all the small bits and pieces. Then i covered the top of the canvas, where you see the stencil popping up, with wax: aged brass. Now it's time to put everything down and do some finishing touches. Below you can see some close ups. and a product list. I hope you like this sticky notes holder! Products random arts:

Hey there! I'm back today with my monthly moodboard challenge which is full of beautiful yellow tones. Various chipboard and clusters of flowers created this beautiful layout. The card stock I used already had beautiful script writing on it, so no other background was needed. A simple paper doily was placed behind my photo and an overlay on top of the photo. I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in clear over the chipboard for some extra dimension. The title was sprayed with Lindy's starburst spray which gave it a glimmering shimmer. I added some beautiful black and white flowers to break up the yellow and sprinkled some gold micro beads over the art stones for added texture.
So quite a simple but elegant layout. Be sure to check out my product list below and don't forget to enter this month's challenge for your chance to win a $25 store voucher. Until next time... Mel x |
