Hello and Welcome.
It's my turn to showcase what I have made
for the latest Mood Board Challenge at Random Arts
and here is the Amazing Mood Board
Check out the Blog Here for details and
how you can win 1 of 3 vouchers to the Store
by entering a project - anything you please
Canvas, Journal Page, Scrapbook Layout or Card
As you can see I went with the florals.
I started my project with a 5inch x 7inch canvas
sealing it with Gesso. After that was dry I
added texture with Tim Holtz Distress Grit Paste
with my AB Studio Stencil
I also added some Dreamweaver Crackle Paste
then on to some colours.
and the composition.
Here I applied the Little Birdie Paste to two
bamboo sticks from our Bunnings Store
and on I go to
placing the frame, some cheesecloth and those sticks.
Here I added waxes to the frame, a little heart and the stick ends.
Also playing around with some of the flowers I would use.
Continuing on - adding the little heart to the centre of the frame
As im sure you can tell im absolutely in love with the colours of this months mood board. This being so i just couldn't help myself but to create a second mood board blog.
I glued down some brown butchers paper and used gesso through a brick stencil.
I do apologise for not taking any progress pictures for the next few steps.
I decided that i didn't like the brick pattern so i roughly cut out squares placing them on the bottom left and top right of the canvas. I then used small round clay balls from a decorative vase i found at a garage sale, grouping them in a curve across the canvas. You could also use artist stones to achieve this look. I also added a cute chip board butterfly to the top.
I then covered the whole canvas in black gesso. Once dry i painted the canvas with Icing paste (Mystic Turquoise). Then is used lindy's sprays (Tibetan Poppy Teal and Azure Sea Asters)
Then i used Lindy's spray (Time Travel Teal) on the butterfly and other places around the canvas. The spray has a silver look to it against the amazing blues of the canvas.
I adore Lindy;s sprays. Experimenting with them is such a joy. The way the pigments change depending on the background colour is truly stunning.
Again i apologise for the lack of progress pictures.
I then used dimension paint on the butterfly to give it some depth. Once dry i used finnabair wax (fire bird) all over the canvas. I use my finger to add the wax however you can use a small soft brush.
I also used dimension paint on the feather chip board. I then painted it with the icing paste before rubbing it with the wax. Oh sorry i forgot to mention i also used a foam leaf sticker i found laying on my table. I added this at the same time as the foam strips.
I rubbed the wax around the edges of the strips, the leaf, and the small clay balls. I did use a small brush on the clay balls to get the wax into the crevasses.
I used white cotton thread to create a nest to place under the feather chip board.
Using the little clay balls was fun however in the future i would definitely use artist stones. (available in store)
I had painted this chip board with brown rust paint for another project but changed my mind. I lightly dusted off the rust paste then rubbed it all over with finnabair wax (fire bird)
I also added white thread as a nest to place under the chip board. I then added small white beads around the canvas. Mainly focusing arounf the feathers and words.
I also rubbed the fire bird wax around the edges of the canvas.
So there we go. Thank you very much for viewing my blog.
I hope you get as inspired as i was by this months mood board and give it ago.

Rebecca-lee Fisher Mood Board Challenge.
I absolutely adore the colours of this months mood board challenge. Blue is such a calming colour. The shabby chic/bo-ho feel to this months mood board allowed my creativity to run wild.
I started by using little birdie Embossing Texture paste through my favourite stencil. I love watching this stuff dry, just magical. It goes on like paint but when you dry it with a heat gun it puffs up and becomes so textured.
I then covered the whole canvas in black gesso.
Then i painted the canvas with Finnabair Icing Paste (Mystic Turquoise) I also used a mixture of Lindys sprays. Sorry i didn't take progress pictures of the sprays. I used
(Time Travel Teal, Tibetan Poppy Teal, Ocean Breeze Blue and Buccaneer Bay Blue)
I also gently rubbed the edge of the canvas with Finnabair wax (white gold)
I created an altered spoon. I used a McDonalds Sunday Spoon, Rust paste, gems, beads and chipboard cogs available in store.
I started by applying Finnabair Brown rust, then the Red rust finishing it off with the yellow rust paste. I use a very old, cheap brush when using the rust paste as i like the effect it gives. I used the same technique with the cogs and the arrow. I used gel medium as my adhesive to attach everything to the spoon. I also used a small white flower on a wire ti wrap around the spoon.
I used a variety of little birdie white flowers (available in store).
I used a little touch of yellow rust paste on the tips of the petals as well Lindys spray
(glory of the Seas Gold) to give the flowers a beautiful gold shimmer.
I used white cotton thread to place under the spoon, cogs and flowers. I attached white beads randomly around the canvas as well three amazing bling gems on the spoon and the cross on the bottom left side of the canvas..
Amazing chip board available in store.
I hope you have enjoyed viewing my blog as much as i enjoyed creating it.

Altered bottle using some amazing products available from the randomarts store.
To start with i covered the bottle in white gesso, once dry i added a thick layer of crackle paint. Once that dried i sealed the bottle with a matte spray. Clear gesso could also be used to seal it.
Then using gel medium MATT i attached an old chain i found in my garden, possibly from an old handing basket. I also attached beads both small and large. I then painted it all with white gesso.
Once the gesso dried i used lindy's sprays to colour the bottle this amazing vintage look.I started with Tibetan Poppy Teal around the neck of the bottle allowing it to drip down the bottle and around the chain. Then i added Bayou Boogie Gold randomly over the bottle. I used Buccaneer Bay Blue around the chain and beads but couldn't get the desired look i was after. I sprayed the whole bottle with Azure Sea Asters to give it a lovely shimmer.
Then comes the most amazing art product i've ever used, Rust Effect Paste.
I started with the Brown Rust. I used an old cheap brush, lightly dabbing the paint on then smudging it around. I put it on a bit heavy in places so i used a spray bottle to water it down. Now, I forgot to take photos of my next to steps sorry. I then added Red Rust over the Brown in places, slowly working it around with a course stiff brush, then a little bit of Gold Rust to help add to the rusty old look.
I then used artist wax Peacock on the beads to add pops of blue to the bottle. I absolutely adore this colour. I also used wax to high light the edges of some flowers. I used white flowers from Little Birdie. Some i kept white while others i used Lindy's sprays on to make them an amazing shimmery blue. I also used off cuts of chain (plastic beads) from an old vertical blind.
I used the rust paste on an old plastic pad lock i had laying around. I also used an old toy earing than i sprayed with Lindy's spray and Firebird wax. I also used a heart shaped
button, chipboard heart and a little skull to decorate.
Thank you so much for viewing my blog. Feel free to give this a go. Altered bottles are so much fun to create.
